Windows 10 (and older versions) allows to share a folder in your local area network (that is, your computers connected to the same router or switch).
For instance, our software GEDEX uses a shared folder to allow all your computers to access its data.
Use Advanced Sharing to share C:\GEDEX as \\server\gedex$
